Despite the possibility that the looming season will be comfortable here in San Diego; I am ready to break out the boots and cozy layers. Here is a fun Fall Mood Board reflecting what I'm feeling for fashion's biggest season.

Back to School Fashion Shows

This month, I've enjoyed styling Westfield's Back to School fashion shows. Meeting with kind and facilitating representatives and immersing myself in Fall 2010 retail has kept me busy but inspired! Saturday, the lovely ladies from the Model Training Center and I executed a fabulously fun show, featuring adorable children and Back to School fashions from JC Penny, Charlotte Russe, GAP, Journeys, and Lenscrafters. Inspiration Is Easy To Come By

With summer winding down, I'd like to reflect on a truly inspirational month. Between long lost muses returning to replenish me, to truly captivating museum exhibits, to a particularly excellent season in thrifting, to potentially sinful sweet perfections, to long nights danced away to unstoppable local beats-there is very little about which to complain! Southern California knows that the warm season is only beginning, but there is just something special about summertime that survived the scholastic years during which it had seemed especially rewarding. Encouraging adventures and shared laughs through the probably sunny holidays.....JG

Little Hurricane. San Diego`s best debut rock duo is at it again. From an intimate show at this month`s North Park Music Thing to radio/tv spots galore to their well deserved San Diego Music Awards nomination-a Little Hurricane has blown us all away. The headline was presented in alphabetical order, since I couldn't decide which should go first. Acknowledging the fact that art, fashion, and music are incredibly dependent upon one another is an understated truth. City kids like nature, too.

Refreshed, reacquainted, revived. Over the weekend my second family held their annual camping trip, and my was it fun! To insure an authentic bohemian experience, we rolled in style. 1971 VB Bus Style. It felt simultaneously like an Anthropologie catalog shoot and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Folks, this van has a closet.
German engineering proved itself again! En route, we enjoyed an enormous breakfast at DZ Akins and an amusingly lucrative visit to Viejas Casino.
We ate/drank/sunned ourselves silly in the waterfalls by day and gorged/bonded/stargazed fireside by night. On the way back, Julian-and chocolate ice cream sodas at the Soda Fountain Old Miners Grill & Drug Store. Here I picked up a delightfully soft animal tail, which is now hanging from a fringey purse. Do not ask me what kind of animal, for I'm stumped.
