M DOT Photoshoot at W Hotel Spread in San Diego Magazine

Last week, as a part of the Mahal Style Team, I styled a gorgeous photo shoot at the W Hotel. The shoot featured the talented M Dot's coveted designs. It was so fun to accessorize Michelle's clothing! All of it is so lovely, well made and versatile that the possibilities were endless.

 

 
 

The day was almost as beautiful as the models. Kara Willingham, Brittany Sackett, and Nicole Coleen Greer were just fantastic! They can all be seen strutting the runway and representing Jennafer Grace at this month's Alexander McQueen tribute Club Fashion Whore.

Maeve Riley is a quaint, well kept establishment with a great history. Visit their website for a little info on their roots. I simply adore the Celtic Origins of the name. 'Maeve' means "one who intoxicates and is a joy to be around". 'Riley' is classic Irish for "brave and courageous".

Jennafer Grace will be consistently adding samples, small lines, and accessories to Maeve Riley's already impressive collection. Visit them sometime on a leisurely afternoon, where a stroll through South Park is incomparably pleasant!

M Dot Fashion Show a Breath of Fresh Air

Recently I have had the pleasure of meeting the extremely talented Michelle Aquino. Michelle is the designer and master seamstress of her line, M Dot Design Studio. Her take on the industry is not only unique but extremely focused and driven. Her New York background makes Michelle a step ahead of the average San Diego designer.

Last month, I attended her preview event at the W Hotel's Rooftop Beach Bar. The night was gorgeous, and the clothes were even better!  The models all clearly enjoyed rocking their outfits, and rumors indicate that they ended up buying them. Less than surprising...

 

Michelle's style is extremely clean and sensible. It was impossible to watch her show and not covet every last item! This year, M Dot's mood stems from breathtaking Filipino street fashion. See her blog for some brilliant references-I guarantee you'll feel inspired!
