It's Official

Hello and welcome to my blog! It’s been a long and busy summer, but I have finally launched my website and am ready to take the next big step as a technologically inclined individual.
I should take this very first moment to thank everyone who has helped me make this happen, from Emily James, to Mahal Style, to every model, client, friend, or helper along the way. If I had to try and list my mentors, or all the people who have touched my life in such a positively inspiring way, we would be here all night. I truly feel that I am a product of many kind hearts, and I hope that through many channels we may all help to further the positive network of creative and giving people in Southern California-and the world!

It has truly been a wild summer. Between cataloguing for my new site, beginning to sell in La Jolla’s hippest new boutique, creating new designs & samples, and attempting to keep up with custom work, the summer of 2009 has disappeared like a bag of cookies at my house.
I have had the privilege of creating for beautiful style leaders in Australia, Canada, France, the UK, and all over the USA. This experience has taught me a lot about different cultures sharing basic needs and interests while simultaneously boasting an astute understanding of their own roots and differences. The word that comes to mind is ‘groovy’, though I doubt it does this information justice.

Besides bragging about the awe inspiring people and walks of life that I encounter, I will also be using this blog to share my inspirations and style tips, as well as random places or activities worth checking out. Though not too in depth, for as Albert Einstein once said; “The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources”. Take note fashion school students!

Jumping right in to the “Inspiration” segment…ahem! I recently had the pleasure of seeing a preview of “The September Issue” with my good friend T.
This film was shown at the San Diego Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park (though it is no longer on preview status, thus recoiling partial coolness factor). The documentary focused around Anna Wintour, the 20+ Years Editor of American Vogue and inspiration for the book and film “The Devil Wears Prada”. As stated in the film, “September is the January of Fashion”, and this film followed the creation process of the 2008 September Issue, which featured Sienna Miller as the cover model.

I certainly recommend this film to anyone with a remote interest in fashion, film, literature, publishing, biographies, or capitalistic conspiracy. The clothes were breathtaking, the characters fascinating, and it was pretty surreal to watch a $50,000 photo shoot get scrapped because it simply wasn’t AS magnificent as the next. On top of all that, it was funny!
With all of this said, I hope that you enjoyed my first ever blog post. I will be updating weekly at the least with behind the scenes pictures at professional photo shoots & fashion shows, as well as recommendations for inspiring old movies and great startup websites that I think you should know about.

Tata…
